Double-date

Last night we had a double-date with our friends, Mike and Debbie. We went to Sweet Basil for Italian. Delicious! Tami and Kelsey were there too. Their first date since Katelyn was born!

Then on to a concert at Central Christian - Phillips, Craig & Dean.

They sang one of my favorite songs:

From The Inside Out

(PRE-CHORUS)
In my heart in my soul
Lord I give You control
Consume me from the inside out Lord
Let justice and praise
Become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Chorus 1
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never-ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart
Is to bring You praise
From the inside out
Lord my soul cries out

Verse 1
A thousand times I've failed
Still Your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in Your grace
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never-ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame

Verse 2
Your will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself
In bringing You praise
Everlasting
Your light will shine when all else fades
Never-ending
Your glory goes beyond all fame

Had to stop at Starbucks of course.
A wonderful evening!

zoo

Our Tuesday morning Bible study went to the zoo yesterday. (Jess was out of town and couldn't come. And Sarah and Tami couldn't either:( ) It was a very muggy, humid day, but the rain clouds stayed away. There were no crowds. What fun we had!

Luke didn't want anything to do with being in this picture.

And of course, the kids had to stop at McDonalds afterwards!

Memorial Day

This morning we put out our flag. A day to honor the many who have died for our freedoms.

In the afternoon we went with Adam and Jill and the girls to Marion Lake to have a hobo picnic with Reimers and Padens.

Dave started up the charcoal and we put together the hobos.

We had different varieties.
1. Hamburger, carrots, onions, potatoes.
2. Red potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, carrots, green beans, chicken, peppered bacon, turkey and provolone.
3. Sausage, zuchinni, onion, summer squash, tomatoes, mushrooms, red potatoes, carrots.
4. Chicken, zuchinni and peppers.

A tip from Marilyn was to line the bottom with cabbage leaves. It keeps the bottom from getting charred and gives it a good flavor too.

Wrap up real good in foil so it doesn't leak and set right on the coals.

While we waited for the hobos to cook (20 minutes each side)
we took the kids swimming.

Lillian was not happy having her toes in the water.

She was happier with the phone.

Ready to eat!

Hannah preferred hotdogs to hobos.

The hobos were scrumptious!!

Dessert!

Oops!

Yummy!!

Sun (or suns????) going down. Time to go home.

What a happy day.
