"TGC, is a network of "broadly Reformed" evangelical churches founded in 2005 by Christian pastor/theologians D.A. Carson and Tim Keller. The mission of TGC is to encourage and educate "current and next-generation" Christian leaders by advocating "gospel-centered principles and practices."
The conference was at the Crowne Plaza Indianapolis Downtown (Union Station). Our kids were staying there too. Jill was so glad since it was rainy and cold that week. INSIDE the hotel there is an actual train that has been renovated into rooms! Jill and Adam did not stay in those rooms, but what a cool idea, huh?
While they were gone, I stayed with the grandchildren.
We went to the grocery store to purchase a few items.
While the sisters were at school, Claire and I kept ourselves busy.
We had a tea party - Claire was not fond of the tea.
Claire enjoyed seeing the girls come home from school!
They enjoyed making their own personal pan pizzas! Claire has a dairy allergy so she has to add her own "special" cheese. Good thing she likes it. It is pretty nasty tasting - at least the rest of us think so!
Pile on!
Al had to work, but drove up most evenings to play and help put the kids to bed. After bathtime, I would read books, tell a story from my childhood, sing a little song and pray.
Many years ago, Adam and his sister made this CD with hymns and other worship songs. I put it on every night while Claire went to sleep. Her daddy or mommy sing to her each night but since they weren't here in person.... Hannah and Sophia liked to listen to their own music. As a child, I always listened to music too at bedtime.
Soph had purchased a puzzle and we put it together this week.
One evening, the girls spent about half hour or more fixing Claire's hair, putting on nail polish, etc. Claire felt so special!
It rained almost every day. Rain, rain, rain! We had a couple of times it cleared up though and it was great to be able to go outside! Shortly after we got home from this walk, the rain began again.
Papa showing the girls how to do tennis.
Ball in the gutter!
Playing Stick Ball. This ball ended up popping. Then they used a soccer ball. It rolled into the street and a garbage man ran over it. It sounded like a gunshot going off!
The rain has helped the tree blossom beautifully!
Claire wanted to buy Mommy a flower.
What a very special time we had!
