It is so good to walk outside and enjoy nature. The ripples of the water are intriguing.
Turtles
They are really skitish and slip into the water so fast if I get anywhere close to them.
I see lots of birds in the trees and have learned to recognize many of their songs.
We have lots of geese and if they are by the sidewalk - especially with their babies - I try to walk on the far side, or even turn around. That's what I did that day. They were not moving away from the sidewalk. I don't relish the idea of being chased by a mommy or daddy goose protecting their young.

Often as I walk along when I'm alone, I will take my 3x5 verses and use these to pray for different individuals. I love praying Scripture for myself and others!
Debby (or ________), seek the Lord.Inquire of Him.
Crave Him!
Require His face and His presence continually!
When we first moved here, I noticed leaf prints in the sidewalk. They were made when leaves fell on cement not quite hardened yet. But I really liked it and so when we poured our own cement, we intentionally pressed leaves into our own patio and steps.
I want to make it known that I do not like this sign. At all. When we were thinking about moving, we purposely did not move to a neighborhood that had these signs up. It makes it feel like the owner in that area is uppetity, not wanting to share the beauty of their walk.
I understand it is probably for insurance purposes. People these days are quick to sue, so maybe that's why. I'm pretty certain that our board members would only put up this sign for a good reason. But it still bugs me.
I am soooo glad that God Himself is not like that: He does not say "My love is only for those I deem worthy." He wants ALL to come to Him. His arms are open to any! None of us is really worthy, but Jesus is all about loving the unlovable. He desires ALL to come to Him!
The Lord does not delay [as though He were unable to act] and is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is [extraordinarily] patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
By the time I'd walked around the pond several times, always turning back where the baby geese were, I noticed the geese had slipped into the water so I was able to finish my walk the full loop.
Happy swimming, geese!
I love your praying scripture! I have been praying verses for my children and husband. All of our prayer warrior Grandma's have passed away and I feel more convicted to pray over my children. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI, too, pray scripture. It allows me to speak God's Word into my or someone else's life. There's always strength in His Truths.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the beauty of where you live!
