Goodbye; Drive along the Mississippi Sound

It wasn't long enough for me - 2018 at Dauphin Island was over.  One week was not enough.

You can just see it on Staci's face too.  The beach is her place!  Or maybe just being in Josh's arms?

Goodbye pretty little houses!
 People coming and people going

We had come down from Memphis and wanted to go on another new route we had never gone on before.  We LOVE to explore new roads!!

We drove along Highway 90, right on the coast.

There were lots of casinos.  Why would you want to be cooped up wasting your money when you could be out on the beach?

There were some really nice homes on the north side of the road!  Mansions.
Lots of places to stop and eat too.

 What is this?
Beauvoir - the historic post-war home of the former President of the Confederate States of America, Jefferson Davis!  If we ever come back, we should plan to visit.

I found this interesting video about the place.

These look similar (but larger) than the houses on Dauphin that we left behind!  There were lots of places for tourists but it is pretty commercialized.  I prefer the quietness and solitude of Dauphin.

It stays shallow way out so the people have to walk out to the jet skis that are for rent

We didn't go into New Orleans.  It was soon time to head north and we made our plans for some more exploring!
