Birds

I missed last month's bird walk.  During the night storms rolled in.  Such LOUD thunder!!  I'm sure there were children that crawled into their parents' beds with them!  It was scary for me too!

In the morning it was still raining and I knew the path would be soggy.  And it was cold too!   I know, excuses, excuses....  I try to go whenever I can though!

Later, while sitting in my chair sipping my coffee and reading my Bible, I noticed a flicker land on my deck post.

As I looked across the lawn (the creek was overflowing from the rains) I counted 10 flickers in all!

Then, later in the day, I had 3 hummingbirds come to the feeder.  Look how fat this one is!!

Getting ready to migrate!  They try to double their weight for the journey across the Gulf.  I read that it is thought that some of the little hummers overdo their weight gain goals and end up being too big to make the journey!

I walk with a friend, usually at the Rec Center, but one day it was not too cold or wet so we walked the bike path.

We saw several birds on our walk.
