At "home" on Dauphin Island

We are so grateful for the time we had at Dauphin Island!  People who have booked rentals for this week have had to cancel their week due to the possibility of the hurricanes bearing down in the Gulf.  That did happen to us the year Katrina hit.

We don't know the names of the people who own our rental, but evidently their names start with the letter M.  Marge and Marc?  Mork and Mindy? We sure were happy to be able to have this place big enough for our families.  We hadn't intended to be at Dauphin this year as we were going to take two of our granddaughters to Japan.  But Covid-19 put a nix on that and so in June we were surprised and happy that there was still a place available for a family vacation!

This room was for Josh, Staci and Eli.  There was a trundle underneath we could have used also.

This was our room.

Papa and I took naps every afternoon.

Jill, Adam and Claire slept here.

The three teens had their own room.

The living room for studying and reading.

Sunday morning the livingroom became our church.  There is a church on the island but we've never gone.  Perhaps we should sometime!  We do have our own pastors and worship leaders right in our family though.

Our families each took turns making dinner.  Each one decided 2 meals and prepared them.  Lunches we sort of decided together.  This lunch was individual pizzas and each person made their own.

Emeri and Hannah helped with a meal.

Celebrating Sophia's 13th birthday!

Eli has taken on wood carving and he made this duck for her!

This is the view out the front door.

And the view out the back.

Will be posting more soon!
