Beach time at Anna Maria Island

When you go to Anna Maria, there are lots of things to do!  Of course, the number one thing is to hit the beach!

Some days it would rain, but it was short lived usually when it did.  The beach was a short walk away.

Making sure not to bother the turtle nests!

After setting up "camp", time to hit the waves!

Looking for sea shells.

Had to build a sand castle, of course!

A girl Claire's age asked to join in.

It was always fun to talk, read, people-watch and bird-watch.

The kids' place had a pool so they took advantage of that too.  Especially Claire!

This beach is not as private as the one on Dauphin Island, where we have gone several times in the past.  When the kids were little and needed naps, having the beach right by the house was great!  You could just take the baby monitor with you.  But now that the kids are older, this place has lots of activities besides just swimming.   Shopping, going out to eat, para-sailing, sunset cruise, dolphin watching......

More to come!
