Mary Poppins play and packing for trips

I spent a couple of days with our kids in Wisconsin.  Of course, I shared some of the pastries I had purchased from the Jaarsma Bakery in Pella, Iowa.  They were delicious!

On Sunday afternoon, Sophia, Adam and Jill and I went to see the play "Mary Poppins" performed by the Children's Community theatre.  Claire was a bank clerk in this program.

There were 117 kids in this performance!

It was the Rodgers and Hammerstein version of "Mary Poppins" that our granddaughter, Emeri, also did at her school last year, except this one was a shorter kids' version.

In her play, Emeri was the awful nanny, Miss Euphemia Andrews, who brought up George Banks.

So glad Claire could be in this play!

On Monday, I had a super relaxed day while the family was all very busy!

They were doing laundry and packing.  Adam and the two older girls were getting ready to go to Romania on a mission trip.  Claire and Jill were coming with me to Kansas and then we would go on to Colorado.

Good-bye family!

"Silly waves"

We left for Kansas at 9:00 and Adam, Sophia and Hannah left to meet their group at church at 10:00.

Here is a funny thing this mission team from their church did.  Before they left, they had put their shirt sizes on a piece of paper and each one picked one.  Then they purchased a silly shirt for eachother.  It could be from a thrift store or new. They didn't know who would get the shirt they had picked.  The morning of their travel, they picked out the shirt that was their size.  AND, they were to wear that shirt on their plane trip to Romania!  Fun idea!
