The girls and I had taken one the day before also.
I said good-bye to the girls and they headed back for Wisconsin. They had to drive through Chicago! I don't think I would ever do that. I did it once and that was enough!!
The valet got my car and I turned on my GPS to leave Indianapolis. It wasn't too bad.
I was not returning to Kansas just yet. As my mother's home place was only 2 1/2 hours east, I was going to go visit my relatives! (I should say 2 1/2 hours if I didn't stop, which I did, of course, making it a 5 hour or more trip!)
I took I-70 to Spiceland. Filled up with gas there and drove north to 36.
Missing a few states??At New Castle, all traffic came to a stop as an ambulance and police cars zipped by.
At the next intersection, even though it was green for us, a motorcyclist stopped us to let all his buddies through.
Check out the ice-cream shop to the left. Not DQ!, but Weenie World. ??
When I got onto 36 I saw a sign for Wilbur Wright's birthplace. I thought I would check it out!
It was 10 miles east (I was going east anyway) and then 4 miles south.
It was going to cost $8 for the tour, but the lady working there let me in for free just to take photos of the outside of the property. I really couldn't spend an hour there as my uncles and aunts were expecting me for supper.
Smokehouse and barn
Drove back to Highway 36.
In the boonies!Be careful puppie!
I passed this burned out building.
I saw a lady walking her dog and I asked her what this building was. "An old school that burned"
Sure is a BIG 2 story building for being out in the middle of nowhere! There is a fence around it with a locked gate.
I crossed into Ohio. And was in Palestine! Went north on 127.
I saw a sign for Annie Oakley's burial place. Of course I had to check that out!
My granddaughter asked me "Who's Annie Oakley?" What?? How can you not know that? Wild west and all that. Check her out here. She is a sharp shooter who traveled with Wild Buffalo Bill.
Al's dad is in the front row, 2nd from the right. Can't you just see him pretending to be a shoot 'em up kind of boy? Look at the teacher's face. Like she is keeping her eye on him!
Moses is buried here too!
At Carthegena I happened to see this!
Seemed out of place in farming country.
Grand Lake St. Mary's at Celina.
An impressive town! Population about 10,000.
I got onto 75 to head north. I would have liked to have gone back country to my uncles' but 6:00 was coming up fast and I needed to scurry to get there in time.
At Beaverdam, they had the road blocked for a town party, but I was able to just go around the block.
A school house close to Pandora.
And then I got to my uncle's place! These are my mother's two brothers and their wives! I just love them! The last time I saw them was at mom's funeral.
This is the house my mother grew up in. We lived with my grandparents for 6 months when we came to America in 1956. I have such good memories here whenever we were on furloughs!

Once I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new feedback are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get 4 emails with the identical comment. Is there any approach you'll be able to take away me from that service? Thanks! online casino slots
