Did you know that in Wisconsin, even the birds are Packer fans?
There is one rebel in the family.
We were welcomed warmly at our daughter's home.
We had gone to help our daughter out while our son-in-law was in Romania.
Here he is preaching; with a translator.
I grew up listening to preaching with a translator, when pastors who didn't know Japanese would come to Japan to share at our church. Either my Dad or a Japanese pastor fluent in English would translate. One sentence or two in English, followed by translation in Japanese. Of course, we could understand both so it was sometimes interesting.
The girls are in 3 different schools so we helped out with driving. Claire likes to take Kobi along for the ride to school.
I was relegated to the back seat on this trip!
Kobi is such a dear friend!
The forecast was rain most of the week, so the first night, Sophia went out to do her chore.
Can you tell she is singing?
She listens to music and sings while mowing. I don't think I sang when I used to mow as a kid. This is the kind of mower I had growing up in Japan:
Claire asked if we would bring her lunch and eat with her at school.
I love little kids' art work!
We celebrated Al's birthday. Jill made chicken and noodles (his request) and then she and Sophia made him a pecan pie too! His favorite!
Kobi wasn't Claire's favorite because he got ahold of her home-made card for Papa and chewed it up! There were a few tears, but we were able to tape it back together somewhat and Papa let her know he loved it!
Games
Now that Hannah is older and so involved in activities, she was really busy!
She even went on an overnight retreat for the honors choir.
Out to eat
Claire: I'm beside myself!
Crepuscular rays
