Pumpkin story

We drove to the pumpkin patch south of Parker for a fun afternoon.  The kids wanted a ride on the train first thing!

They spent a long time in the corn box (not the sand box).

Even mommy got buried!

At home I read the story of the pumpkin parable to the girls.  The girls colored their pumpkin pages.

Then we got the pumpkins out to carve.  Just like one picks out a pumpkin, God picks us out too!  He chooses us.

Then we cut it up and scoop out the gunk, just like God cleans us the messy, broken parts of our lives.

He makes each one special and different.

The girls decided to paint their pumpkins.

God gives joy in our hearts so we smile big!

They put their pumpkins out on the porch to join "Skelly".

We place a light inside; and His light shines in us too.

During the night, something nibbled on the pumpkins!
We found out it was a squirrel.

I suppose you could even have the analogy that our lives are often hard and the "evil one" attacks us too.  He does not want our light to shine for Christ!
