I began the month of March in Colorado with Mindy and Tenley. I ended the month of March back in Colorado, this time with my husband and Jill's family along. Sandwiched between those days was the end of winter and the beginning of spring.
Early March
Late March
I am not sad to see the freezing temperatures go. March was terribly windy and so far this April it continues to be blustery and very chilly. Allen mowed the grass today and wore several layers to keep warm.
Unfortunately the high winds this past month caused fires to get out of control. One young mom friend of mine lost her home. Luckily they were not home at the time. That fire raged through 12,000 acres, killed one man and damaged 35 homes! We are reminded regularly that we continue to be in fire danger. Please don't throw cigarettes out your car windows! And don't start a fire when it is windy!
I was thrilled to see an eagle was flying around our lake.
The juncos hung around all March and just left.
I waited and waited for the purple martins to arrive. I was reading other people's posts who were also wondering where they were this year. They came about 2 weeks later than normal. Keep away, Mr. Sparrow. This apartment building is not for you!
The golden finch has turned a bright yellow now. In the winter, they are a dull yellow.
I put away our winter decorations and put up Easter ones!
My daughter, Jill, and grandaughter, Hannah, have birthdays in March!
We heard WONDERFUL news!! Mindy and Jason were quite shocked themselves! We are thrilled!!!
I continue to work on my mother's genealogy. Have been able to go back to 1495 on one line! It is a daunting task, but so fun!!
We celebrated Pi Day with pie!
Our dear cousin came home from MD Anderson. It was good to visit with Jim and Shirley.
Our sweet, caring friend, Carolyn, passed away suddenly. She was in my older women's Bible study. She regularly sent cards to MANY people!! The cards would be filled with bookmarks and stickers and wrapped in ribbon. She was a mighty prayer warrior and would call to ask how she could pray for us!!
Her husband asked me if I could help pass out the many Easter cards they had recently purchased. So, today, my Bible study friends and I put together all the cards and signed them "In remembrance of Carolyn H. Heavenly Blessings!" How we will miss her sweet spirit!
We are soon wrapping up Awana Cubbies. I sure do love those little kids!!
Our women's group at church had our March Legacy. It was SO good! Three women shared lies they had believed from the enemy. We need to listen to who we are in Christ and not lies from the accuser.
We nailed our lies to the cross.
How I love to worship and share life with our Community Life Group!!
Spring often means bumpy weather. Kansas has fewer tornadoes than they used to I think.
We do have spectacular sunsets and sunrises though!!
Before we know it, the hot, dry winds of summer will be here!
