A park and a dust storm

Making music

A Charlie Brown kite-eating tree!!

One thing they are doing in Denver is tearing down old houses like these

and building modern ones.

As one who LOVES old architecture, my heart just sinks.  If the houses are a piece of junk and falling apart, that would be ok I guess.  But some of these homes will be a lost part of history!

We went out on the rooftop.

The weekend went too fast!  The next morning we left bright and early.  Made a stop at a local coffee shop.   Here's an old 1880's house that has been repurposed!  The barn beside it has been made into an antique shop.

The drive home was a little wild.  Winds picked up between 30-60 mph.

Lots of tumbleweeds and corn husks flew across the road.
A few scraped up our car.

A dust storm lasted most of the way back home!

About a half hour from home, it began to settle down.

We ran into Wichita that night to visit with Pastor Mihai from Romania.  There is a "storm" in Europe, isn't there.  We are planning to go visit his church next spring and it just so happened that he was in Wichita for this one evening!!  He was talking with a church here and then going to Texas to speak with Romanian immigrants.  God is doing amazing things through their church with the Ukrainian refugees.  Hopefully we will be able to be a little part of it!

Finishing projects in Denver

I mentioned in the last post that Tenley loves to read books.  This is such a funny picture with her and her mommy laughing so hard!

A project on Mindy's list was to take down the black out paper in Tenley's room.

She was going to replace it, but maybe she would
try to see if it made any difference at all.

We have never used black out shades;
that just wasn't a thing I don't think when we were growing up?

Our kids didn't have black out curtains when they were growing up.
Not sure when that became a trend?

One of my favorite things to do is to sleep on the floor
where the sun is streaming in!

Papa giving Tenley a ride - around and around she goes!

The guys did a little tightening up of the new bed Tenley has.

Then they took a break to watch KU.
It was not a happy game.

Mindy and I put up some trees to make Tenley's room a little forest!  We didn't get around to doing the little critters that go with it.  Mindy was going to figure that out later.

And we added a little "forest" to the living room.
YES!!  We put up the Christmas tree!
In October.  But for good reason!

The baby is coming soon!!  And it will be rather hectic
with 2 little ones under 16 months!

Projects to do in Denver

The next weekend after our Branson trip, we were off to Denver to help Mindy and Jason with a few projects.

There were lots of planes going every which way in the sky.  We prefer to drive where we need to go.  Unless it is overseas, of course.

We have stopped here for picture taking in the past!
I think a lot of people do.

I'm always grateful when the round-abouts show which lane to go in.

We were so excited to see this little Cutie Patootie!!  She can go up and down the stairs all by herself!

She loves books!

The first to-do project was to install a screendoor.

This screen door is retractable.  I never knew these existed!

Bear, their dog, had never known about such things either, and alas, he ran right into the screen as he tried to run out to the porch.  After that, he was VERY leary about going onto the porch.  Mindy tried to show him it would be ok if she opened the door.  But he was spooked!!

There were a few more to-do things, but they could wait until the next day.
We had to go to the park!

We would finish more projects the next day.
