Young Family Fall Party

Fall - 2004 The first young married's fall party. That year we joined with the Jost community life group and went on a hay rack ride.

Raggedy Ann and Andy (aka Tony and Angela Estes, who are now in Oregon)
Life and Cinnamon Life Cereal (aka Joel and Kendall Smith)
Samson and Delilah (aka Allen and Debby Graber)

Fast forward Six years!
(Would you believe there are now 42 couples on the list of young family life at church?!)

There was a young family fall party tonight. Adam is preaching tomorrow and Jill needed a break, so we took Hannah and Sophia with us to the party and gave them a night to rest up.

The party was at the Bebermeyer's farm. There was great food (chili, hotdogs, cornbread, lots of yummy pumpkin goodies and other desserts). We played part of the time inside this huge tin shed. Hannah drew a picture of her mommy on the concrete floor. Good likeness.

Way to go Riley!
We roasted hotdogs outside.

We brought along bikes for the girls.

I didn't bring my nice camera - only the pocket size one. So the pictures I took weren't so good. Hopefully Lindsey got some great pictures she will post. Especially the fire that was rainbow colored! This is a picture of the guys wearing head lamps so they can read the music. We sang worship songs while these guys played guitars. Hannah told her daddy "Daddy, they were singing your songs!"

Great young friends who don't mind having oldies like us tag along! Fun party!

Carnival

We were invited to a carnival tonight. Kim and Benjamin welcomed us and then we purchased tickets for the evening.

8 tickets ($2) bought a full meal deal - including pie!! What a deal!

The Andersons were there...

...and the Lakeys. Look how BIG the sub sandwich is! Amy is squashing it down so it will fit into her mouth!

The bouncy house was 3 tickets. The girls went in there many times!

There was a cake walk.

#7 wins!
It's Sophia!! She picked out the cupcakes that her mommy made.

Balloons!

Lots of people were getting wierd hair-dos.

And there was face-painting too.

There was a basket auction and I won one! Lots of really nice autumn things!

Thank you for inviting us, Hannah, to your school carnival!

Arkansas birthdays

Last weekend, I drove down to Arkansas to celebrate my Arkansas grandbabies' birthdays. Emeri and Eli have their birthdays two days apart!

They decided to do a combined birthday party with their friends. It was a jungle party!

Emeri helped her mommy decorate her butterfly birthday cake.

Eli's mommy made him a monkey cake and there were extra cupcakes with the letter "e" on them.

We decorated the house "jungly".

On Saturday, all their friends came to the party.
We sang "Happy Birthday" to Emeri first, and she blew out her 3 candles.

Then "Happy Birthday" to Eli and his daddy blew out his candle for him so he wouldn't get burnt.

The children ate outside on the deck.

There were games -
feed the animals...
pin the tail on the monkey...

and all the children got jungle hats.

It was supposed to be a "no gifts please" party, but everyone brought gifts anyway.

YAY!! What a happy jungly day!
Happy "1" and "3"!
