Weddings

The last two weekends I went to two  weddings.  They were both outdoors, which can be risky here in Kansas.  But they both turned out beautiful!!  And both so Christ-centered!

The first wedding was for Hope.  My granddaughter and I had gone to Haiti last December with Hope to take Christmas shoe boxes to the children at Maranatha Children's Ministries and to spend a week with the kids.  Her sweetheart had gone with us too and now they were getting married!

They got married in an orchard belonging to a friend from church.  What a beautiful setting!
And the ladies from Maranatha had come to celebrate too!

Then last evening, our niece, Arika, was getting married to Trent.  This time, it was outside of Pretty Prairie at the Collingwood Barn.  Another beautiful setting!

Trent and his son, Tyler

Sweet words of love to her new son.

Cake for top layer with VERY declicious cookies for the guests on the layers below.  I remember my cake in 1973.  The top was a real cake too and the other layers were styrofoam - although no one would know that as they were decorated.  We served sheet cakes to the guests.

We had included a Japanese friend, Mina.  It was her first American wedding.  And much different than Japanese weddings, for sure.
I was hoping Mina would catch the bouquet, but a little girl jumped for it!
