Live it up!

What else happened when the family was here....

Hannah taught Staci and Emeri how to make a messy bun.

we helped Josh make an art project out of computer keyboard letters

Can you tell what it says?
"Our Father in heaven..."
We didn't get around to the black keys but they listed various vices;
jealousy, envy, hate, etc.

The kids wrote and performed a modern day Christmas story.
There were maids, innkeepers, and sewage workers.
President Harod and billionaires.
And Grandma, who tells the story.

While Adam's family went to visit friends, we went to Kaufman Museum to look at our forefather's history.

While I read Golden Books to Claire,  Papa read classic literature to the older grand kids each day.

The girls put together a rap they called "Live it Up"

We are on vacation so we got to live it up (2x)
Live it up, live it up!
Live it up yo live it up
Give them what they want
live it up (3x)
Feed them ice-cream, feed them chocolate chips
Feed them marshmallows and sugar
Especially sugar!
Live it up, live it up, live it up!

Not to be undone, the mom's made up their own:
Go to bed at 5 PM
and don't get up until 8 AM.
Live it up, live it up
Eat your vegetables without complaining
Do the dishes for your parents.
Live it up
Live if up!
Clean your room and never sass
And definitely please don't throw a fit.

Time was winding down and the families would all soon leave.  We decided to have the "muscle men" help put away our tree.  I took it all apart the last day when they were all out at the movies (Al and I decided not to go) and that evening the boys put it up for us.  That thing weighs almost 200 pounds I think!!

Some of our friends have given up on their big trees and have gone to the smaller ones.   It would be so much easier!  Yes, as we are getting older, we will need to be downsizing in various ways.

The children left early Sunday morning.  Good bye, Jill's family's!  Happy 12 hour driving!

Good bye, Josh's family!  Happy 5 1/2 hour driving!

Good bye with silly waves from Papa and Nana!
