Last weekend we had a party with Japanese friends and those with connections to Japan.
In Japan, you take off your shoes when entering a house. When we built our home, we made sure to include a "genkan", a traditional Japanese entryway.
There were quite a few who were out of town or had other obligations, but we enjoyed those who could come!
We had pot-luck. Delicious Japanese food was brought by many!
After lots of visiting, Mayu and Levi told us their story and how they met one another. They were married on July 22 in Japan. Really, they are still honeymooning and will be going to the UK for several months where Levi is from. They shared how God is working in their lives.
She shared this video.

Blessings on you, Mayuko and Levi, as you serve the Lord together in Japan!
We had people fill out on the back of these leaves what they were thankful for. It IS Thanksgiving month, after all! Even if most people have skipped it and gone on to Christmas decorations. (I always wait until after Thanksgiving Day, my preference!)
I am soooo thankful for finding so many connections to people from my childhood homeland!
"Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

That looks like it was so much fun. Sorry we had to miss it!
This is Kathy Trim, by the way.
